Our programs connect kids and families to nearby outdoor experiences in partnership with a constellation of community partners. We design programs WITH KIDS using the Children's Outdoor Bill of Right as a frame, and believe all kids benefit from time outdoors.
Check out the video from our first experience in 2021 with our youth design team during the pandemic as we collaborated with high school students on the future of learning and a high ropes course.

Forest & Tree envisions a future where all kids in Oakland have equitable access to nearby safe parks, healthy and affordable foods, and outdoor places to learn and grow.

Forest & Tree provides young people in grades Tk-12 and their families with outdoor learning experiences away from the four walls of a traditional classroom in order to develop a stronger sense of self, community and connection with the natural world.
All kids have the right to a healthy childhood.

Our values derive from natural systems.
“To create better health in a living system, connect it to more of itself.”
